What is a Clutter Club™

A Clutter Club™ is a discussion group which meets at regular intervals for a set period of time during which attendees are led by a facilitator as they search for answers to their greatest clutter problems. Open to the public and never for a charge, all are welcome to join as often as their schedule permits to learn more about how to de-clutter their homes and offices.

Clutter Club™ History

Started in 1990 by Jamie Novak, owner of Life U Love and a Professional Organizer herself, Jamie saw the need for no cost options for the public to have access to organizing professionals. Since their inception Clutter Clubs have sprouted nationally, as of 2005 eleven clubs meet in nine states on a monthly basis and more are forming every day!

Clutter Club Workshop™ Option

The Clutter Club™ is specifically designed to be offered to the public at no charge. The reason is simple, once you charge you severely limit your options. Host sites offer their space free of charge provided you do not charge for your event. Additionally as a service to the public the Clutter Club™ stirs up a frenzy of media interest, offering you an opportunity to get in the papers and on television. However should you choose to, you can opt to present the information in a workshop format for which you charge a fee.

What You Need to Become a Facilitator

If you have a strong desire to help people out from under his or her clutter then you’d make a fantastic facilitator. Because the club is run as a discussion group, experience as a public speaker is not required. If you have a desire to help people while putting yourself in front of your target audience then this is a perfect match for you.

How to Become a Facilitator

By joining our Clutter Club™ community, you'll have a chance to connect with your target market in your hometown. As you sign up to be a Clutter Club™ facilitator, you become a key link in creating our community of support while showcasing your expertise.

Facilitator Guidelines

Education is the primary goal of a Clutter Club™ therefore direct or forceful selling of your products or services is strictly prohibited. That being said, it is very common for attendees to hire the facilitator. Since a level of trust is established during a meeting and the attendee become more comfortable and familiar with organizing as a service many choose to work with who they know.

As a facilitator, you are responsible for attending and leading each monthly Clutter Club™ you schedule. Additionally it is recommended to arrive early and plan to stay late to answer any questions. Should you be unable to fulfill your commitment you are asked to find a replacement for that evening or the remainder of the club meetings. A sign with an apology for the inconvenience should be posted in the unlikely event you are unable to be at the meeting and no replacement could be located.
